On July 4, the first edition of the FoodService Night was held with the awards ceremony of the Food Service Cluster on its 10th anniversary. The event, organized by the Cluster (CFS) at the Institute of Ocular Microsurgery (IMO) in Barcelona, brought together 300 professionals from the food sector, including companies, research groups, innovation and public entities.
Judith Viader, president of CFS, highlighted the growth of the cluster from 16 to 115 associates in 10 years, underlining its impact on the competitiveness of the sector, which represents 9% of the Catalan GDP.
Awards were presented in 5 categories:
- Best Project in Research and Development: Reusable airtight rice husk lunch box – Camara Arrossera del Montsià.
- Social Impact and Environmental Awareness: Labor insertion program “Extraordinary Difference” – La Fageda.
- Disruption in Catering: Carpaccio and prepared tuna tartar – FRIME, S.A.U.
- Technological Innovation: 360º Scanner for volumetric analysis filleting – Opsis Vision Technologies
- Model Diversification and Strategic Change: 100% gluten-free pastry – thechökshop
The event was attended by Raimon Bagó as the second president of the Cluster in these 10 years of trajectory and current vice president. SERHS Food has been a partner since the creation of the Cluster, collaborating with a large number of activities and projects among associates. The three historical Presidents of the Cluster, Jaume Von Arend, Raimon Bagó and Judith Viader, were reunited in this very special and intimate event.
The event concluded with the intervention of Albert Castellanos, Secretary of Enterprise and Competitiveness of the Department of Enterprise and Labor of the Generalitat de Catalunya, highlighting the strategic role of CFS in job creation and business sustainability.
