April started with a noteworthy visit to our headquarters, where we welcomed the technicians from the Department of Facilities and Education Services of the Sabadell City Council, accompanied by representatives from several schools in the city, including Roureda School, Can Deu School, and Miquel Carreras School. The aim of the meeting was to build a closer and more enriching relationship and to gain a deeper understanding of the catering service we provide to these and other schools in Sabadell.
In this context, we organized a visit to our High-Performance Kitchen (CAR) in Mataró, where attendees had the chance to experience first-hand how menus are prepared, our facilities, and the work of our kitchen team. This allowed us to demonstrate how we ensure a balanced, healthy, and tailored diet according to the specific needs of each educational center.
This visit also offered the opportunity to resolve questions regarding the catering service and to establish a direct and constructive dialogue among all participants.
Currently, in the schools of Sabadell where we provide services, we prepare more than 1,000 meals daily, with more than 60 different dietary plans, supported by a team of 234 professionals. Additionally, we enhance the catering service with pedagogical and interactive activities, such as cooking workshops and the Great Healthy Gymkhana. The latter is an educational activity designed to teach children how to identify foods that should be eaten more frequently and those to avoid, through monthly challenges related to the food pyramid.
We also organize themed and cultural gastronomic days, during which we serve special menus (e.g., Italian, American, etc.) and decorate the facilities to create a unique experience for the children. At the same time, we carry out the “10 Months – 10 Causes” initiative, where each month we focus on a relevant theme (such as Water Day, Equality Day, among others), through activities that aim to raise awareness among children about important social and environmental issues.
With our firm commitment to providing a high-quality, healthy, and tailored catering service, at SERHS Food Educa we continue working to offer the best service to schools. We deeply appreciate the visit from the municipal technicians and schools of Sabadell and will continue collaborating to promote healthier and more sustainable eating habits.
