The service covers both <strong data-start=\"2183\" data-end=\"2205\">patients (123 beds<\/strong> in the hospital and <strong data-start=\"2226\" data-end=\"2239\">57 places<\/strong> in the day hospital), as well as <strong data-start=\"2273\" data-end=\"2323\">public service and healthcare staff cafeterias<\/strong>, and <strong data-start=\"2329\" data-end=\"2349\">vending machines<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2354\" data-end=\"2889\">In <strong data-start=\"2357\" data-end=\"2365\">1996<\/strong>, the <strong data-start=\"2371\" data-end=\"2378\">ICO<\/strong> started its activities at <strong data-start=\"2405\" data-end=\"2433\">Hospital Duran i Reynals<\/strong> as a reference care center for cancer treatment in patients diagnosed in the <strong data-start=\"2511\" data-end=\"2533\">Metropolitan South<\/strong> health region. <strong data-start=\"2549\" data-end=\"2567\">ICO Hospitalet<\/strong> works closely with <strong data-start=\"2587\" data-end=\"2620\">Bellvitge University Hospital<\/strong>, which is located nearby. Additionally, it collaborates with <strong data-start=\"2682\" data-end=\"2706\">7 regional hospitals<\/strong>. Each year, it registers around <strong data-start=\"2739\" data-end=\"2759\">3,200 discharges<\/strong>, more than <strong data-start=\"2771\" data-end=\"2794\">16,000 first visits<\/strong>, nearly <strong data-start=\"2803\" data-end=\"2835\">42,000 day hospital sessions<\/strong>, and over <strong data-start=\"2846\" data-end=\"2886\">2,500 external radiotherapy sessions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2891\" data-end=\"3356\"><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/serhsfood.com\/en\/\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong data-start=\"2891\" data-end=\"2905\">SERHS Food<\/strong><\/a>, headquartered in <strong data-start=\"2924\" data-end=\"2934\">Matar\u00f3<\/strong>, has more than <strong data-start=\"2950\" data-end=\"2962\">40 years<\/strong> of experience in the <strong data-start=\"2984\" data-end=\"3014\">collective catering sector<\/strong>, with a team of over <strong data-start=\"3036\" data-end=\"3059\">2,000 professionals<\/strong>. It stands out as the <strong data-start=\"3082\" data-end=\"3113\">first company in the sector<\/strong> to obtain the <strong data-start=\"3128\" data-end=\"3145\">FSSC 22000 v5<\/strong> certification for <strong data-start=\"3164\" data-end=\"3179\">food safety<\/strong> in the <strong data-start=\"3187\" data-end=\"3231\">high-performance kitchen (CAR) of Matar\u00f3<\/strong>, in addition to holding the <strong data-start=\"3260\" data-end=\"3277\">ISO 9001:2015<\/strong> quality certification and the <strong data-start=\"3308\" data-end=\"3327\">ISO 22.000:2018<\/strong> food safety certification.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This February 2025, SERHS Food has started managing the food service at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), covering patients, cafeterias, and vending.
