For 5 weeks, SERHS food, through the fifth range products brand Eudec, has contributed to the management of the patients and workers diet of Hospital of Barcelona. Given the problems faced by a renovations period in the hospital kitchen, the Barcelona-based company found in SERHS Food the answer in the variety and quality of the products, flexibility and speed of the service.
Hospital of Barcelona, which is part of Assistència Group, had to do structural reforms that involved stopping his kitchen production located at the same building at Barcelona’s Diagonal Avenue, and found in Eudec a supplier with 400 product references without preservatives neither colorants, and with a specific free allergen products line that was perfectly adapted to the already established menu, by the hospital dietary department.
Accordingly, a double option menu with two weeks of rotation was configured, with the different characteristics of diets that a hospital with such these characteristic requires.
Eudec textured shredders: a very appreciated solution for hospitals
Given the challenge of providing gastronomic solutions for hospitals, Eudec produces food keeping in mind that there is many people with chewing and swallowing food difficulties. The success achieved with SERHS food and the Hospital of Barcelona collaboration required an excellent coordination between the different agents involved from both companies. On one hand there are the commercial and product technicians from SERHS Food, as well as the dietary team, that built an adapted and flexible proposal without incidents during the service delivery.
On the other hand, the Hospital of Barcelona Head of the Restoration Service, Chef and cooking team implication and know-how was fundament to achieve a complex and, at the same time, ambitious goal to ensure the same quality and service levels that the hospital usually offers. All together, it has generated an entire range of positive synergies that might lead to future collaborations, as the Head of Restoration Service said.
